Ravenshade August 16, 2018 - 10:20pm | The first one that readily comes to mind: Chaingun (fires the same way as a machine gun) Carries 30 rounds in a rotating barrel with an attached belt 12d10 damage Smaller version of the spaceship chaingun More dangerous than an average machine gun, this technology has been around for a while on spaceships, but recently efforts have been made to convert this heavy gun for use on the ground as well. Redwillow, Inc.'s chaingun specialists worked on this project for several years before coming up with a good design. jedion357 August 17, 2018 - 7:37am | I think you should just go with the mini gun- I wrote an article adapting the film versions of the mini gun to star Frontiers. The movie version are pure fantasy but they are a thing in the minds of people so I adapted them anyway just using the SF hvy machine gun, and the support arm from the movie Aliens. Then wrote up a archetype like the SFman use to publish: the dralasite heavy gunner. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
JCab747 August 17, 2018 - 12:33pm | I like the project concept. I could import a few things from my project, Joe's Half-Baked Ideas, when I get a chance. I also have a forum discussion on powered armors... which I need to update again some time... been too busy with real world projects at the moment... Joe Cabadas |

Then write up an archetype like the SFman use to publish: the dralasite heavy gunner. I'll have to go looking for that article, as I'm not fully sure what the minigun concept is. I'd really like to know more about it, and when I get time I'll see what I can dig up about miniguns. Ravenshade August 24, 2018 - 8:58pm | One of my Yazirian friends wanted something like this, so here goes: Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle (projectile) Cost: 1000 Cr. Rate: 1 Damage: 4d10 over long range, 3d10 over short range Range: Short (-20 modifier): 0-200. Medium (-10 modifier): 201-250. Long (no modifiers): 251-1000. Extreme (-5 modifier): 1001-2000. Silent and deadly, the bolt-action sniper rifle can hit a target up to 2 kilometers away with surprising accuracy. While its rate of fire is slow, it makes up for that in range, as several shots can be had before a target could be able to fire back. Its main drawback is its inability to hit in close-quarters fighting, as the long muzzle makes it hard to aim quickly. An optional piece of equipment for the rifle is the sniper scope (100 Cr.) that allows the user to add a +20 to any sniping attempt, similar to careful aim. JCab747 August 25, 2018 - 8:28am | If you review some of the Star Frontiersman magazine stories and Frontier Explorer, you'll find a plethora of available weapons... not that adding a few is a bad idea. One of the things the game is lacking are, say, Sathar-specific weapons. Or Zurraqor weapons... more Clikk weapons... ancient Tetrarch weapons... etc. Joe Cabadas |
