jedion357 April 24, 2018 - 8:02am | Inspired by: http://www.ragingswan.com/20-things-to-find-in-a-goblins-pouch/ what do folks in the Frontier have in their pockets? besides the miscelanious from the equipment list? Break down by profession: spacers, pirates, mercenaries etc. or break down by species: dralasite, vrusk etc. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |

jedion357 April 24, 2018 - 8:37pm | My character in a PBEM has a "Jerihco" device that is a palm-able scanner that provides a bonus to picking locks and a disarming defenses- its a scanner designed to give some idea of whats going on with a lock or defense basically. Named after a biblical city because the "walls come down" with it. It's illegal on Gran Quivera where he's from but was not detected when he was incarcerated and was returned to him when he was released. BTW I like the EMP grenade. Good stuff that it should be in a magazine, oh wait.... I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
KRingway April 27, 2018 - 10:49pm | I seem to recall my players favoured marble grenades and Rafflur M-1s, just as 'loose change'. Invariably they would actually forget that they had these when the time came to defend themselves quickly Yazirian - a pack of wipes or nanofibre cloth to keep their goggles nice and clean. Dralasite - chapstick-like applicator, containing a mild stimulant: somewhat like having a cup of coffee to hand. Vrusk - basic preening kit to maintain their mandibles. |
Shadow Shack April 28, 2018 - 2:40am | PSA - Military: one space bullet, gyrojet round, or power cord accessory for a beltpack or backpack PSA - Tech: random small part from a ground or hover cycle/car PSA - BioSocial: data cube containing the latest issue of Today's Environmentalist, Modern Medicaine, or Handbook of Psychology |

jedion357 August 13, 2018 - 8:26am | PSA:BioSocial --- shiny pocket chrono-com (used to be called "pocket watch"), soil sample, or a stimdose depending on field Love the pocket watch, this dralasite gives 3 thumbs up. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
jedion357 August 13, 2018 - 2:04pm | Vrusk personal care kit: emory cloth and squeeze bulb of Kdillick oil chitin conditioner. Plus a container of spiracle swabs. EDIT: kdillick oil conditioner is a botanical extract developed and designed on Terledrom as a skin/chitin lotion/ conditioner for both dralasites and vrusk. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
jedion357 August 13, 2018 - 2:26pm | When Starplay's hit holo vid, "Galaxy's End" featured an antique pocket chrono used by one of the principle characters they marketed pocket chronos that year as a fashion accessory. The automated factory producing them had had a glitch in its order processing and vastly overproduced and shipped them throughout the Frontier. This glutted the market and the price fell. The fact that they were an movie merchandise fashion affectation also seems to have turned some public sentiment against them. The current price ranges between 7 to 10 credits. Rumor: "I heard a Capellan Free Merchant was buying up cases to sell to primitives on some planet." (A case is 25 count) I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |

Ravenshade August 13, 2018 - 4:42pm | Military PSA: Pocket Autoturret: when deployed, can fire a small laser pistol at 1d10 for 5 turns or until destroyed (5 STA). Biosocial PSA: Empathic Monitor: This small box, when coupled with a device that looks like a hearing aid, allows the wearer to detect the emotions of any being nearby. This can add variable amounts to most checks requiring a psycho-social skill. Technological PSA: Extendable Wrench Set: These small wrenches, when activated, can extend up to 10 times their length, making them very useful for repairs. Made of a very light and durable metal, terrabranium, which is also used in Shaman, Inc.'s assault rocket system, these wrenches can extend without losing their structural integrity.
