What ships would you convert for use in the game?

I'm planning on porting some of the ship designs from EvE Online into my SF campaign, short scenarios, and fiction writing.

This will also include equipment and skills from the MMO as well, just being tailored to the SF rules.

What would you all consider converting over?

Back when Serenity RPG was a thing, the crowd on the Waves in the Black forum developed at least a hundred ships, which were collected in a web document. There were some warships and government types, but nearly all were tramp freighters, shuttles, specialized transports, and so on. Some were featured in an official book, http://firefly.wikia.com/wiki/Six-Shooters_%26_Spaceships  There were 26 ship designs in there, and I think half-dozen of those came with specific ships and NPC crews.

My favorites in running that were the Pride Mk III carrier (made to haul standard cargo containers, altered to carry single-person fighters) and a shuttle that could fly or travel underwater.

This is what I think I'm talking about. Artwork included.

I haven't gotten around to making any conversions, but maybe I should.

I remember those.  In fact I contributed several of them under a different handle.

Jovian Chronicles ship would be a good match for conversion in the SF universe. NO artificial gravity, a variety of styles and size.JC Majestic Fleet Carrier

Got a new idea. I'd suggest the Bentenmaru from Bodacious Space Pirates.

How would you spec that, one B drive and two A drives?

It would be harder than you think, there are 4 more drives only seen from the back.

So it would require at least 3 different drive programs, assuming the thrusters on the tail would be chemical. To which why would what is clearly would be a HS 6 ship need chemical drives? On a note in the series the ship did enter an atmosphere, more or less fell. They just kept up enough thrust to not fall to the ground. However it was noted that in an atmosphere the ship was limited in what it could do, and a plane was firing a machine gun at it so it was slowly taking damage.

I've been tossing around the idea of converting the Hunter-Gratzner (from Pitch Black) over to Star Frontiers. As presented in the movie the ship is a modular transport with a drive section and a helm section with five containers sandwiched in between. I'm thinking HS:10 with each container capable of holding 2 units of cargo each (along with optional passenger containers that can accomodate 50 passengers each). With less mass, fewer container/passenger modules could result in enhanced performance.

However, unlike my TT-456 Container Ship, it has to be assembled/disassembled in port without the on-the-fly option since the first thing that detaches would be either the bridge or drive module. I'm contemplating having the bridge module capable as a small HS:2 vessel itself that can make planetfall while leaving the rest of the ship in orbit.

Oblivion with Tom Cruise was on and while it's a bit advanced the "copter" that he flew which was also space capable . Was pretty cool.
I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!
