What was the name of your first character?

I "borrowed" this topic from another forum, it seemed like a fun one. So what was your first SF character and which game/module did he/she/it start in? Let's throw in the name of your first ship while we're at it too.

My first SF character was an NPC male yazirian named Narlok for the Basic Game "Pan Galactic Security Breach".

My first Expanded Rules character (again an NPC...I was first to acquire SF in my group so I GMed until the other guys picked up the boxed set) for a published module was a male human named Steven "Rex" Knightrazor PSA:tech, whom I penned as a blood brother to Narlok (who was re-specced to Expanded Rules as a PSA:tech) for the Volturnus adventure.

My first actual PC from when one of the other guys got the SF boxed set was a male vrusk "Bizz-Tek" PSA:military

Those three characters, together with a pair of NPC ex-Star Devils I whipped up to help the reduced party in Slave City One (a male human and male yazirian duo, both PSA:military) eventually got together to man my first starship, whipped up using our group's own house-rules, dubbed the Volturnian Knighthawk (one word), which got converted when I acquired Knight Hawks a couple years later (much to my surprise the ship rules boxed set carried the same name as my ship!)

My wife went with a female yaz named Lunari for my rewrite of Port Loren Raiders.

Terl Obar - Crash on Volturnus

At least, that's the first one I remember.  I may have made others to try out the Basic Rules but if so, I don't remember them.  His first ship was the Gullwind from Dramune Run but shortly thereafter they built their own HS 7 tramp freighter, the Searcher.  They lost the Gullwind in a battle with some pirates.

Not my first, but the earliest one I recall was a human demolitions "expert". It was a homebrew campaign. This guy was pretty unstable. Bozz Kreigen is what I named him. He was last seen pinned down in a fuel oil refinery. The baddies were too well hidden in the pipes to hit with his auto pistol (though he tried), so instead he tossed a grenade their way. I don't recall if it was a frag or an incendiary. Doesn't matter though with all the bullets he threw their way, it ignited enough gas to level half of the structure. Lets just say that he permanently retired during that game. It took the GM a few weeks before he would even talk to me after that. Undecided

Funny, I can name each of my first five D&D characters, their classes and many of their adventures, but can't for the life of me recall the names of my first two (and only two until recently) SF characters. I remember the first was a human tech and the second was a dral military. Both played in each of the standard modules (we often played two characters per player back in the day), although the ones I most remember are KH modules.

I cant remember my SF characters as they didn't get used much- remember my first D&D character though.

So the first character I remember is Doog Luos (tech PSA) from the Black Hand Gang PBP on yahoo which has been one of my favorite characters and a lot of fun. He jumped in the action right before the climax to Mission to Alcazzar. best moment was the surprise encounter of the the basic game encounter when the slug escaped the zoo- and Doog borrowed a reproduction musket from a yazirian clan war re-inactor to replace his useless laser pistol. I use jump out of bed on sunday morning not to go to church but to check for the turn advance in that game.
I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

Ford, After the Hitch hiker hehehe, I was young still. He was a learning toon. Then I moved on to my self. Mic Stylz, freelance Spacer with a crew of 5. Traveling the known frontiers fighting the evils of Genom and the Sathar. He's still kicking around in his converted cargo hauler with his friends.

My first SF character was a Daralisite I called "Old Pun".  it ran around in a Fedora Hat and a Trench Coat.  One of the running gags was that he would jump in front of a female character, whip open his Trench Coat and literaly wave his third leg at her, then run off laughing.

Hmmm, it's been so long. I seem to remember calling him Kraveshera, or maybe that was another game. I'm not sure.

My very first game I remember using a needler on the hydra and rolling a critical failure. Gus was standing behind me and laughed so hard I got showered with pop.

I think the characters name was FAIL!

I just wrapped up a session with my girls. They are playing Volturnus, Planet of Mystery. My oldest is playing a Yaz BioSocial named Zeelik. My middle daughter is playing a human robo-techie named Aira Sunust. They made it into the pirate outpost and got pinned down and out flanked. My oldest was using a needler rifle. She rolled a crit miss. I ruled it jammed. She then drew her needler pistol the next round. Again, rolled a crit miss so I ruled it was ruined. The same happened to my daughter daughters laser pistol. It pretty much turned into slag. They handled it very well, laughing and carrying on about cursed dice. I told them that after the fire fight they were examining the extent of damage to their weapons and noticed MercCo stamped on the sides.

That when I tell other characters I only use Wartech brand hardware and weapons.

Yeah, I'll have to work in a game involving a rash of junk weapons hitting the streets. I was going to say they were Streel but isn't MerCo one of their subsidiaries or something?

Technically, any megacorp wouldn't be where they are by selling junk...but for faulty weapons I'd claim them as stemming from StarPlay Enterprises (the toy company, get it?).

I disagree, Shadow. They could get there by selling CHEAP junk. Wink

I dont remember my first characters name. Im sure it was terrible. When we first started playing the name was the least important part. They were more like a walking gun. hehehe

Inigo, very cool that you are playing with your daughters. They games that I have played with my son and wife are the best. They easily replaced my old childhood game memories as the best games...

At least I got to scare an alien rabbit thingy......

I'm not sure...

Griegg Stlark was a human medic that I had made.  But all my friends laughed at the name as being too hard to pronounce.  My friend's first was Rick Slazenger - after the brand on his golf tee shirt!

For some reason, we only gave last names to the Humans.  I think my first Dralasite character was named Globo...

Geez, this was a long time ago...

One of my earlier (if not my first) Dralasites was named Breeyark, without the hyphen.

Yes, right out of the D&D module B2 - Keep on the Borderlands. For some reason all the other players kept calling me "Hey, Rube!" Wink

When we played The Lost City (B4?), we had a fighter in the party named Gorm, the same as one of the Lost City dweller's gods! Laughing

That must have been interesting.

"I am Gorm, leader of this party."
