Ok, as fore-warned in another thread, here is my shameless self-less plug of my digital comic book that starting up in the Fall. I will offer a lot of tie-in materials for Star-Frontiers gaming especially since I play-test some of the plot deivces and storylines in gaming sessions. If you are into the digital artwork I have posted here please stop-in and enjoy the previews and teasers. If your not, well then I appologize for taking up the room here on the site, but since there will be tie-in materials I hope folks don't mind too much. If everyone really likes the new story-line maybe a module might be produced for SF gaming, we'll have to see and I don't want to put the cart before the horse. Thank you everyone for tolerating my digression from the normal game based project threads.Foot in mouth

Ok TR fans, a newly remastered version of the my first comic book will be available soon. I never was really satisfied with the image quality that came out of the first comic which takes place 60 years in the future from the Titan Rising: Project Hyperion Series. For those of you who have been following the comic will recognize that the primary characters in the first comic were TDF Space Pilot Sasha Ames (Grand Daughter of Captain Ames from Project Hyperion) and FO, the first Xin to become a officer in the TDF (Xin are very long lived and FO was a Xin diplomatic ambassador to Earth when we first meet him in Project Hyperion). I hope to have the remastered version done by comic con to expand my profolio. There are also a few minor continuity issues I want to repair with this remastered / remake version. However, for the most part things will remain the same. I hope everyone will enjoy this remastered vision of the original and it should fix alot of the annoying image problems as well that detracted from the original artwork that I had created for the comic.

Special thanks to all the folks here that insisted on the use of PNG format, I would have never known that it preserves the image integrity so much better. I would probably still be using Jpeg, and bmp which are the default save from all of my 3D graphics programs. It has been a real joy to see the final pages come out in the same quality as what they looked like when rendered on my computer. It was really difficult to see the distortion and pixel decay on the Jpeg pages. I think everyone will really like the remastered version of the original comic. There of course are a few things I can't fix, but those things that I can will make comic so much better. Thanks for all of your support everyone.

above picture is the Battleship Hyperion, named after the Terran Defense Forces' first starship the TDF Hyperion which was most reknowed for its role in the Trinity Incident, This proud vessel is the flagship of the Terran Space Fleet. Though not the largest vessel in the fleet, this massive dreadnought is the heaviest armed of its sister ships. Unlike the starship of its name sake, the Battleship Hyperion utilizes the lastest advances in Hyperspace Transit technology allowing for faster jump calculations and stasis shielding that does not require the crew to be placed in cryo during prolonged hyperspace travel. The Battleship Hyperion utilizes the TDF's tried and true modular ship design that was first introduced 60 years ago when the TDF commissioned the design and contruction of the first Terran fleet manidated by the Tyco Accords to enforce the Earth/Xin treaty. The Hyperion is versatile warship armed with 15 batteries, twin bow mounted heavy canons, four forward and aft torpedo bays, two hanger pods house dropships/shuttles, fighters, work and combat pods, and can accomodate two medium sized cargo transports. With minimal refit, the ship is capable of mounting four additional batteries and up to two Ion-Canons if needed.

Ok, I notice its pretty empty in my little room here. Thank you very much to those of you who have taken the time to post comments or requests. I respect everyones time, and especially since my time is spread so very thin these days. But, seriously, if you have requested a free copy of the comic book please leave feedback. Love it, hate it, kudos, criticisms, want to see more of this or less of that, and of course questions (what in the world is...?). While I know, this does not pertain specifically to SF, a lot of the story lines were developed out of SF games. I hope to put together some stats soon so the characters, ships, aliens and such from the comic can be crossed over and used in your games if you wish. However, if I don't hear anything I have to presume that there isn't much interest in the matter. Please post feedback!

I plan on giving you feedback after Issue 10 is out.
That's my focal point right now.

Would you mind doing a short writeup of your comic so we can put in the Community Buzz section?

AZ, the comic is great.  Your artwork is amazing.   I'll admit that I didn't actually read any of them until I had all three issues, but when I finally did, I quite enjoyed them.

My only real comment was that I felt they were too short.  I'm not really into comics (and don't normally read them) so I'm not a great judge of appropriate length.  I know it takes a lot of work to make the images and there is only so much you can do at one time.  I'm someone who can read a 400-500 page book in a day so I'm used to high volume content, probably why I'm not really into comics. To lengthen the comic AZ could have a panoramic view or outside-the-hull view with talk bubbles. This would allow him to reuse the renderings by simply rotating the view. Since the reader was aware of what's going on in the ship he/she could follow easily.

Picking up what I'm laying down? Innocent

Hmmmm, thank you very much for the ideas, I will work on implementing them for future episodes. Thank you very much for the suggestions. Currently I am trying to put out episodes more consistantly and quickly. A twenty five page episode is taking about two months to complete at this time. I also plan on making all ten episodes available in a single graphic novel style format when its all done. Which should weigh in at around 250 - 300 pages. Most digital comics are running about 30-50 pages per issue, I definitely wouldn't mind working on making more content. This feedback is very valuable!
Thanks everyone, happy to hear you are enjoying the project. My goal is to work on the story line to keep the excitement building, yes episode 2.0 was a little slow but was needed to set the stage and give everyone a feel for whats to come. Episode 2.5 brought in a little more action but again this is just a warm-up to get everyone ready for the real action. More to come.

2008/2009 Tentative Schedule
Winter 2008 Prometheus Dawn Episode 1.0 Remaster
Spring 2009 Hyperion Project Episode 3.0
Summer 2009 Hyperion Project Episode 4.0 and Prometheus Dawn Episode 2.0
Fall 2009 Hyperion Project Episode 5.0
Winter 2009 Hyperion Project Episode 6.0, Prometheus Dawn Episode 3.0

Hopefully more will be available, but it is important to keep my work load realisitc so I am not overwhelmed by the projects.

Seven years prior to the launch of the Trinity Explorer, the Vanguard Explorer was Earth's first Hyperspace Jump capable starship. Relying heavily on reverse engineered and borrowed Xin technology that was provided by the Xin as part of the Tyco Accords treaty. The Vanguard explorer served as the mankinds first quantum leap in distant interstellar travel. Considered a landmark sucess the Vanguard Explorer was used as the TDF model and test bed for the development of its future space fleet. Two years after entering service the Vanguard was lost in the worst space diaster in human history. According to un-classified Terran Defense Force records the Vanguard's jump drive contaiment shielding failed contaminating the entire ship. All hands were reported lost during the accident and ship was deemed un-recoverable due to extreme bio-hazard. Still adrift, the Vanguard is considered a floating monument and was last reported to be drifting in the outer rim just beyond Earth's last outpost. Though not deemed to be a design flaw, later vessels are planned to be built using a modified version of the Vanguards very durable space frame, modular technology, and with the newer and safer jump drive. However, Space crews have expressed an extreme reluctance to want to serve on the yet to be comissioned vessels nick naming them the "flying dutchman".
