Hi all :)

I've just discovered this site, and I think maybe I've found the possibility of a good, old-school "space trek" game. I've seen there're some downloadable files of rules, and I'd like to know which one would you advise me to choose. What I'm looking for is a basic game that covers the general assumptions of the space sci-fi genre (mostly "Firefly" flavor).

Am I at the right place here? If so, what should be my first baby steps?

Thanks in advance.

Start out with this website www.starfrontiersman.com and download the rules. There I would suggest you start out with Alpha Dawn (for the roleplaying) or if you are interested in the more wargameish style go with Knight Hawks. Or heck download them all and see what there is you like....

Yes, start with the Alpha Dawn rules. They can be freely downloaded at the above and at www.starfrontiers.com. Tim has all the rules, modules and endless quests that were published.

Most of all, have fun! Check out www.starfrontiers.org also. there's a good forum there, and some cool downloads.

The rules and modules are all on ebay usually pretty cheap.

I'm pretty new to this site, but welcome any way!Tongue out

Star Frontiers is definitely perfect for the Firefly style. Though the cowboy flavor isn't demonstrated in the art, it's not a big step to add the cowboy flavor.
