As the Langstrom Industries Orbital spacedock crew busily prepares for the departure of the Icarus Class Exploration Starship the C.S.S. William Logan a lot of work has to get done before we can get underway.
First we will need a executive command crew to make sure all departments are working efficently to prepare the ship for launch.

Crew member applicants should submit their dosier (Character Sheets) for review. We will be accepting the following crew candidates. Please use standard Alpha Dawn character generation, weapons and equipment will be discussed later.

Alpha Dawn Characters will be needed later but will not participate right off the bat. All Colonial Space Fleet (CSF) characters will enter the game as Officers that are Graduates of Space Fleet Academy. This is similar to the Golwin UPF Avademy and player's it will be assumed that characters will have equivallent skills to those found at the UPF Academy (SFKH Pg. 91). All Colonial Space Fleet officers volunteering for the mission will receive a sign-on bonus of $150 credits and basic equipment pack. The equipment pack contains one ID Card, One Skein Suit, One Laser Pistol with One Spare SEU Clip, One "Chrono-Com" device, and a back pack. CSF characters will receive daily pay compensation respective to their rank. A random rank generating table has been included in this project's forum for faster character generation.

Races: The Edon
EDON Classification: Semi-Aquatic Non-Terrestrial Amphibian
Life Span: 80-120 Years

Special Abilities: +10 To All Phyiscal Attributes When In Water. Able to generate an electrical shock as a natural weapon. Immune to stun by electrical shock.

The Edon, Little is known about this race of semi-aquatic amphibious beings. They are very stoic and aloof which makes interaction with others very difficult. Edon prefer to avoid socializing and social interaction with others whenever possible. This has led to a general distrust of the Edon by others and a reputation for being snobs. It is rumored that they are one of the few races that have been able to successfully repel the Shi'an and posses an equally powerful technologies. Edon normally do not wear clothing and prefer aquatic environments but can live on land for prolonged durations if needed. Edon are slightly smaller than humans and not quite as strong. However they are more dexterous than humans while in water. Edon are not comfortable in hot dry climates and will avoid them whenever possible. The Edon can secrete a viscus liquid barrier over their skin which acts like an environmental suit in more hostile conditions for a limited time. Edon are fiercely isolationist and tend to stick to themselves, they will interact with the other races out of necessity or mutual benefit. Unlike the other races the Edon do not field any large or capital spacecraft. Instead when a larger more powerful presence is needed individual craft will work in cooperation as a collective swarm.
Edon Males have a Green skin coloration and females have a grey skin coloration. The Edon have a natural biochemical ability to produce an electrical charge like that of an electric eel while in combat. The charge has the same same range as an electro stunner's short range and does 1d10 plus stun damage and may be used up-to three times per day before becoming depleted. The edon producing the electrical charge does not have control over the amount of the discharge only over when and on what to deploy the discharge. In summary, the Edon deploying this natural weapon does not have the ability to choose how much electrical current will be used its all or nothing.
Edon prefer not to enter combat if possible and dislike the use of weapons when they do. They are not pacifists but do find most combat situations to be wasteful or unnecessary. Edon prefer to use their natural electrical weapon and any acquired martial arts skills whenever possible. Edon do have the ability to use other weapons but may not be pleased about using them.
Xin get along well with Edon and their natural social awkwardness allows them to look past the Edon's anti-social behavior.
Humans tend to find the Edon stuck up or snobbish with their separatist / isolationist attitudes and lone-wolf attitudes. Its not that the Edon wont work with others its that they choose to avoid it whenever possible.
Ganai get along fine with the Edon and don't particularly care either way how they feel about associating or socializing. If they work hard we don't care if they want to be friendly too.
Edon attitudes toward the other races.
The Edon tolerate humans but think they are far too emotional and impulsive for their own good.
The Edon tolerate the Xin because they tend to socially occupy the humans with their social awkwardness when not working with their own kind.
The Edon like the Ganai the most of the races as the Ganai don't feel that mutual cooperation requires emotional or social attachment. The Edon also have a similar work Ethic to the Ganai and respect each others devotion to accomplishment.

Races: The Xin
XIN
Classificiation: Bio-Mechanoid
Average Life Span: Unknown, Estimated To Be Around 300-500 years.

+25% resistance to damage caused by extreme cold or heat. Immune To Hyperspace Jump Illness & Teleportation Illness
Genders: Male & Female.
Handedness: Naturally ambidextrous.
Xin generally get along or are tolerated by most other space faring races. As former soldiers for the Shi'an wars of conquest they are no strangers to interacting with alien races. As biomechanoids (essentially biologically engineered lifeforms) they are socially awkward and at times seem to bumble through social graces of other races. They are intelligent, fast learners, with an innate sense of curiosity and desire to serve. They are much more resilient than humans to extreme conditions and slightly stronger and faster than your average human. They have superior night vision but inferior bright light vision. They have a very poor sense of smell which accounts for their ability to eat things that discuss humans and more sensitive species. Sense of touch is identical to humans and they are warm blooded. Xin are capable of heterosexual reproduction but prefer to continue to use artificial gestatation and are grown to maturity. For This reason there are no many children in the race and reproduction is done in large clinical labs. Xin are very long lived and have natural life spans that have been known to be around 500 or more Earth years if they are healthy and without major injury or defect. The Xin were engineered by the Shi'an with physical features to fit function and environment. These Xin "castes" developed into were raised together, worked together and formed social communities together which became known as Clans. There are five clans, the Tal and the Fen are two largest and most powerful clans developed for interstellar travel and warfare" The Tal are more diplomatic and the Fen are more direct. The other three clans were devastated during the Xin's war of independence against their Shi'an creators. While the other three clans still exist there numbers and influence are considerably smaller. The three smaller clans include the Kae, the Paxa, and the Gao. The Xin home-world of Ryaden, located in the milkway galaxy, was left uninhabitable by the great war with the Shi'an and the surviving Xin were forced to flee their now toxic and devastated home-world. The Xin now roam the galaxy as nomadic wanderers finding solace in small refugee pockets throughout the known universe. The Xin are naturally gifted astrogaters and space travellers, as this was engineered into their genetic make up, and freely share their knowledge with others...even at times when it is not requested. They have a bit of an Ego but not do feel themselves as superior to others. The Xin have a loosely bound interstellar democratic based government which is called the Xin Confederation which is ruled over by a Clan Council of elected members from each of the five clans. Xin law is a tricky thing as it differs from clan to clan and is more of a abstract guide then a strictly concrete concept. Fen Xin are often sympathetic to their former masters the Shi'an feeling that the rebellion was too extreme and that life under the Shi'an was often better than life as homeless refugees. This is often a point of contention between the Tal and Fen clans.
Xin have a bio-mechanical organic structure throughout their bodies which they call the Q'almar. It is the legacy of their Shi'an biotech and provides a source of their accelerated healing and resillience. Xin have the ability to heal 10 STA points once per day making them very difficult to outright kill.
