Use of the world reavers generally brings to mind Firefly's reavers as they are somewhat fresh in everyone's mind.

These Reavers were noted for cutting on their own flesh, and being of a mind to kill, rape and eat their victims and hopefully for their victims it would be in that order.

Previously I had posted this pic:

Its rather creepy to think that a sathar could hypnotize a victim and keep them around for feeding on over time and the victim thinking this is a great thing!

So what if- no not what if- its almost certain that victims of this behavior by the sathar are going to be unstable and lose their minds, become unhinged, warped and so on and they begin to act out the behavior that has been done to them: Ie kill, rape, eat and in moments of boredom cutting on their own flesh. Just the close association with the sathar as the victim would be kept as chattle/pet would bend the mind.

Note: this behavior is officially frowned upon within sathar society (as per previous discussions) however it is the dirty little secret of the upper caste sathar and a large proportion do it. Occassionally, one lower caste sathar on a battle field will succumb to the temptation which leads to a feeding frenzy by all other lower caste sathar who witness it and this requires extermination of all those lower caste sathar.

The only two species cannot succomb to this treatment:

1.) the osakar as their biology is too different

2.) the humma as there is a cultural imperative that gets triggered if the sathar attempts this, the humma hate the sathar with their whole being and they consider them meat thus they have a very visceral reaction to the sathar attempting this.

That is good logic and would explain other races involved with the behavior... if a whole ship or several went rogue in this manner the Sathar would be interested in hunting them down, could lead to a real unusual situation in which a Sathar fleet comes out of the void, destroys a ship or group of rogue Sathar ships & ground troops that are doing terrable things, even saving the only surviving UPF ship under and then they leave... the UPF would be all "what just happened?"

That would be a total cluster screw up of a situation where it begins to look like a TPK and by referee fiat the sathar fleet shows up and saves the day! Sounds like fun but as a referee I think I'm sad that we wont have a TPK. Cry
