Assault scout airlock

Is it my imagination, or are there no airlocks on the assault scout maps in the Knight Hawks set? Is there any reference in the rules as to where the airlock should be?

cargo deck has a hatch, you have to use the whole deck as an air lock.

Yep, that two-by-six section in the middle is a bay door:

Is that just a supposition, or does it actually say that somewhere? How does an assault scout link up with other ships' airlocks if they've got this giant, nonstandard hatch?

That is an odd issue with the Assault Scout: Is that bottom hatch a platform just used for landing operations, or does it doubles the primary air-lock?

Personally, I would rather have the landing hatch and the ship-to-ship airlock separate. I would place it on the side of the ship somewhere.

Ahhh the magic docking colar just beneath the non standard hatch, yeah that's it.

Seriously though, perhaps its time for a redesign of the assault scout?

For example are two separate elevators called for in a ship this size? I believe there are two because of one encounter in WoWL where two elevators act as a fire break for the sathar invading the Osprey but from a star ship engineering stand point I dont see the need for two separate elevators. And an honest to goodness airlock would be nice too.

One deck up there is a blue oval surrounded by five blue circles. It doesn't say they're a table and chairs anywhere, but we suppose they are...much like the adjacent area has a brown length that we suppose to be kitchen counters and cooking paraphenalia.

According to the rules, they don't...it entails a space walk after the two ships are close enough for such activity. Warriors of White Light went against that grain, but the canon rules do not cover anything akin to docking.

The security measure is the reason for two elevators...no direct access to the bridge when it comes to invaders.

I did design an honest to goodness airlock for the scouts. http://www.starfrontiers.us/node/5792

Alas the Colonial Chrome Khock Sucker had an issue with an alleged copyright over pixels and the bulk of those were taken down as a result so we can no longer enjoy it.

The good news is the Colonial Chode has not made any updates to his site since April of 2012, if we're lucky the site will just fall off the net soon and I can repost all that wholesome goodness sans his offal offerings on the matter.

Or just put them back up and don't worry about it.  IIRC, most of his pictures are ripped off Star Wars anyway.  As long as you drew them yourself and didn't just modify his originals, you're pretty much good to go.

Are you saying what i'm thinking... in that there could be a smaller hatch build into the 2 by 6 meter cargo door?  Maybe not a full airlock, however, but something more standard you can attach those vinyl tubbing tunnels to connect ships.

No that there is a docking colar/buffer beneath the deck there and that if it gets a good seal with another ship then both ships open their hatches and personnel can go back and forth.

That's the problem, he claims minute portions of my deckplans are his copyright designs. As in my entire graphic has to come down because I used his autocooker in one room. One of my own graphics entails a maintenance robot that, when viewed from above (i.e. the deck plan) has what looks to be an R2 dome head. That 16x16 pixel shape is "his copyright design" and anything incorporating said designs is infringement.

Larry can tell you all about the lengthy email threat he received concerning it. Sure, some of the stuff I posted was directly his, copied right from the CC site and credit was given as such. Even that didn't fly...although those were the few incidents where he was justified. The rest, bull spit...but the threat made to Larry was real.

I just noticed some other discrepencies with the Assault Scout maps: they don't have launches or workpods.

"All Spacefleet ships of Assault Scout class or larger carry a small launch."

"A workpod is standard equipment on all Spacefleet vessels."

Oooops, Stormcrow just peeked behind the curtain, "Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain, Stormcrow."

There is a very obvious Marvel No-Prize (google that if you're not familiar with the term) explanation for the lack of workpods or launches:

The depicted assault scouts are not UPF SpaceFleet scouts, they belong to planetary militias.
