Basically someway somehow an egg is brought on board a ship, which hatches then multiples and suddenly creatures very similiar to the Green Slime Movie's critters (Space Station in the Movie) are running amok and killing people. It is a board game... but could easily be played out on a SF ship I think.

Players must figure out how to kill the creatures from available things onboard the ship (fire extinguishers, cannisters of Zgwortz, Bottles of Acid, Gas Gernades, Knife, Rocket Fuel, Stun Pistol, Welding Torch, Pool Stick, Hypodermic Needle, Comm. Beamer), failure to kill them means they regenerate or worse multiply from what you did. PC's can also try and escape.

In the game it is never the same thing that kills the critters.

But for a one time SF adventure it could be fun. I think it could be run similar to one of the Basic AD adventures.

Of course there would have to be extra NPC's for the GTs to eat or I am pretty sure PC death rate might be high. Plus I think the list of things availbale would need tweeking for SF but the basic idea would work I think.

I am going to rip off the space spam/food name in this game: Zgwortz

Here is wikipedia's take on the game:

So its the Hydra basic game encounter done on a ship but with a horde instead of one big menace. That works. You want a ship with more than one elevator and with some air vents and possibly "jefferies tubes" like in star trek to allow for moving around that isnt a straight line guantlet.

Also you could look to the Space Hulk game for similar inspiration.

And it looks like the Steve Jackson Games version is revised with rules for exiting and fighting on the hull.

In keeping with the nature of improvised weapons I would say you need a star liner or a ag ship or something.

With a starliner, you're hoping for a gun to turn up in someone's luggage and on an ag ship its about using agricultural impliments to kill the menace.

Don't forget the epilogue! If the ship was overwhelmed by the awful green things, then the survivors could undergo a survival mission to get back to Znutar!

Love this game!

I do believe I will alot some money this weekend to buy a SJG copy this weekend and play it with the kids when it comes in. After that I'll consider a modelling project to build a table top terrain piece with the the kids as well.

I saw that movie like 35 years ago and loved it. Now I have to find it on DVD.
Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go?

I was thinking about the premise of AGTFOS being used as a SF module. A creature like the quickdeath is immune to needlers and has damage reduction for both kinetic damage and lasers. The creature for this scenario should have a table and you roll the special defense and special attack with one entry on the tables for "roll again".

I was figuring either the ref pre-determines the monster's weaknesses or just like in AGTFOS the adventure's randomness does... in that case tables would be needed just like in ATFOS but once it is determined what does and does not affect the creature that is it for that creature in SF in the over all campaign. In other words GT if they ever appeared again would have to be consistent. However having charts like that might be handy for other critters... in essence the players get to help create the monsters. :)

I think the creature needs to be a mystery- not from any known planet in the Frotnier or Rim- something someone found (the egg in AGTFOS) and brought on board back to the Frontier. then all hell breaks loose.
I also think you could have a random table for what the ship is, number of passengers and other cargo.

it might be possible to run the scenario solo with random tables and established monster behaviors, ie the creature(s) will always move to attack.

Does it?  that must be a newer thing.

I've previously read people think the Green Things have a slight balance advantage BTW.

The Steve Jackson Games release of the game had some revisions and updated by Tom Wham.

The remastered DVD of Green Slime arrived today... I am totally enjoying it, the cut off on the old VCR is fixed so you see more of the set. Also the conviently have maps of the station in the movie, so if one wanted to brim=ng Gamma III alive as a setting you could.

I love Japanese sci-fi special effects. :)

Excellent classic. And very impressive model there, jedion357!
Last game played: Somewhere in the 80th (Vrusk by heart) -- fond of Jugger, a "post-apocalyptic" sport

I love the end scene... what a cultural study that is. Give the thumbs up sign with a smile after your best ex-friend/rival saves your life but dies, the spacestation is destroyed and now you can get the girl.

There are at least 3 space dances in the party scene.

Tonight's bad film is Wild, Wild Planet.

I think I might theme the next sci-fi club fun day to Green Slime, Awful Green Things, and Blob type stuff... everyone could use a good laugh on the IVK nom Hegh.
