The makers of Flintlock fantasy Napoleanique game have redone their Ion Age miniatures in 15mm which lets you base them on a 1/4 inch washer and use them on the Alpha Dawn map, but they also just released a 15mm hab dome building:

I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

Most 15mm gamers base their guys on pennies, however this would not fit in n the alpha dawn maps. Not unless you only have them on your PC and don't want to scale them up.
In every age, in every place, the deeds of men remain the same.

Actually, I base my 15mm miniatures on 1/4 inch washers which work perfectly with the AD map. When it comes to 25mm minis the usual convention has been 1 inch bases but I adopted using 7/8 inch fender washers years ago. I found that by reducing the base size by 1/8 made it easier to pack them into tight formations and for moving them around each other in a congested tactical encounter. The only issue with fender washers is that they come in both magnitizable and non magnitizible metal and if you plan to use magnetic storage you need to make sure you get the right ones.
