Fight Night?

I read somewhere that you can build up commanders by having fleet fights between alliance members.  I'd like to test this.  If it works well, then we could do a fight night where we circle some SY and put fleets in the middle to beat on each other.  Do a round robin of who gets to attack who.  when we are depleated of ships the fight night is over and we talk SF.  We could talk SF the whole time and have this go on in the background.

Jedion and I are close to each other with SYs at (686,2610) and (700,2593).  We could test the theory out with a fight.  I thought there was a location with jedion and I closer but I can't find it.  Jedion, where is the SY sitting between two stars?

When do we want to test this?

Found the two stars I was thinking about.  Jedion at (849,2573), Me at (858,2549).  Not as close as the other two but an option.  Jedion I have placed a fleet of 50 Swingers, commander 9 star, A/D 10/12 by your (686,2610).  Hit him.

I think we should all send SY to the highest value property one of us owns. Most likely and energy property since energy properties are a magnet for people feeling froggie. At most it wont take more than 5-6 days to assemble. I just pulled an SY from holding a crew planet and could redirect it.

In the mean time I'll hit those swingers latter today-cant do it now as I'm off for work.

That's Karxan at (849,2573) not Jedi.  I actually don't have anything really close to either locations but could move something over without much difficulty.

As to high value targets, Eric's Omega star at (700,2593) is as high as anything I have.  I have a shipyard <11 hours from there I could fly down (it's up at 687, 2425).

Let me know how the test attack goes.

I have several omega stars to offer.  One is even isolated with no one around it.  On a fun note, fighting in the mutari nebulae would be appropriate.

perhaps we can do this as king of the hill, leave your ships on the "hill" until someone knocks it off

That sounds like a good plan to me.  It's probably the easiest way to coordinate it plus it would allow us to keep it up even when we can't all be on-line chatting.

There is an unoccupied star just down to the left from iggy's omega.  We could make that the "hill".

I'm good with this.  I see that jedion already has a fleet on the hill.  I'm gonna put my commander Otho1 against him with combat/attack/defense C/A/D 60/12/10 and 200 swingers and see how long I can hold the hill.  I'm hoping that giving my hardest to fight might generate the highest xp for lower xp commanders.

Long term I would like to see us aquire a Lambda Energy like at (700,2625), but not neccessary to be this one.  We could ring it with our SY and RS and turrets and then fight in the middle.  A black hole or other cool feature would work as well.  I like the idea of imagining up epic battles in the heart of a super nova or black hole.

WOW!  Jedion's meaning to hold this hill.  Lost all my 200.  But got 307 XP.  Smile

I have another 197 coming then I'll have to wait for a big force to build up.  I've been hunting with swingers only and so my inventory is low.  Plus I have those 800 juggernauts depleating my capacity.

I'm king of the hill!  Smile  Took out Jedi's fleet and got 432 XP.  I assume we want to play it that you don't reinforce whatever fleet takes the star.  Or do we want to allow that?

Getting a lambda energy to fight aournd would be nice.  That one at (700,2625) is right by my factory station.  Wherever we end up setting up shop, it might be a good idea to set up our factories there as well to give us an area to swap components.  I haven't played with that aspect of the game much but maybe if we have a central location anyway, we might give it a go.  That is unless of course, you've all dismantled your factories.

I was thinking the factory thing as well.  I traded with another guy for a few weeks and since then he has not shown up.  That was long ago.  I have a good mix of stuff that I have never used to expidite an upgrade.

I was wondering about not reinforcing too.  I think that would keep the hill changing hands and bee more fun.  That would also free up resources for hunting at the same time.

I'm happy with the xp coming from this.  I do not even have to send a fleet I feel will overwhelm and take the hill because if I'm wiped out trying then I still get high xp.  I am going to experement with different ship types.  Next I will send a fleet of turrets and let it be attacked to see how strong my turret instilations could be.  The one thing that is a pain is waiting for all of the ships to build.  I'm at a 1m9s build time for a ship but have not been getting significant improvement to that as I add SYs and upgrade their fleet level.  I have 12 SYs all at least level 13 for fleets.  How fast have any of you been able to get the ship build time too?

I think 1 minute per ship is the asymtotic limit for build speed based on things I saw mentioned in chat.  I have 11 shipyards,(1xlv17, 5xlv15, 4xlv14, 1xlv10) and I too have a 1m 9s build time.  It doesn't get much better than that I guess.

I have 17 SY and a 1 min 9 sec build time. I'm pretty sure that that is a the limit for improving build time. the good news is that a lot of my SY have low numbers for the fleet vaule and thus if Eric is correct about doing a fast upgrade shorting the repair time I'll be able to shorten the repair time for many of them to less than an hour and for some down to a minute.

I think I'll do a turret fleet next as well to give you guys something to hammer on.  My turrets, like my ships, are all level 25 in attack and defense.

some of those attacks were on Tom so the turrets defended them

BTW, I'm building that one admiral up to a 70% commanders bonus then working on another on the premise that the next time there is trouble I'll use him in the smack down so that the other player sees that commander's bonus and perhaps has pause over it being so high.

I didn't see anything until he finally took out your turrets and killed off my last 33 ships on the star.  Time to take out his ships and put my turret fleet on the star.

I've been building up a lot of captains to 6 stars as that is fairly quick and once I've gotten my 12 commanders to that point am going to start building up my main one to a high level like jedi.

Oh.  Looks like it was iggy there now and not jedi.  Oh well, I sent too many ships.  That turret fleet has 600 turrets at level 25/25 with a 7 star commander.  Have fun.

I'll post the combat results like iggy did once they are gone so you can see how the various leveled ships do against it.
