What's Behind Your Screen Name?

A.K.A. what's the story behind choosing your handle?

Mine dates back to Y2K when I got my first desktop with internet capabilities. Well, not my first desktop as that would have been my old 386 but rather my first foray onto the internet on a later model computer, if Windows ME can be considered "better" (rolling my eyes).

Anyways it didn't take me long to find some motorcycle boards and after initially registering with my first name I caught on to the trend of catchy names being used so I drummed one up. The one I picked has stuck with me ever since. The first part stemmed from having three Honda Shadows in my garage. The second part hails from the garage itself, which at the time also had some carpet, sofa, DirecTV on a 27" tube with a dolby surround sound system, fridge, evaporative cooler and space heater...to say the least I used to spend a lot of time out there. I had referred to it as my "shack" (incidentally most of those comforts are gone now, having been replaced with yet more bikes and an accumulation of parts in one corner that I affectionately dubbed "the great heap" after a Star Wars: Droids cartoon).
I'm not overly fond of Zeb's Guide...nor do I have any qualms stating why. Tongue out

Tchklinxa started as a handle for an alien empress of a space empire in a game I play. A member of an ancient insectoid race, Ovion like race (BSG original series) or like Selenites from The First Men in the Moon.

So I just kept using the handle...

Huh, I never responded to this before?

One of my favorite games/settings is Space:1889. A friend ran several (2 or 3, maybe 4?) minis games at our home convention in that setting in the mid-90s, and he named the Oenotrian (Martian) general Putraack. I played the Martians, thinking I wanted to take on the challenge of weaker technology/superior numbers. I won all of the games (well, maybe not one of them, but the propaganda won't talk about that one!), so I claimed the title of "Putraack the Ever-Victorious". I use it on some boards.

There are many old discussions. It just takes someone to find one and respond to it to make it "new" again.

Cheers.

A bit of a long story....  But, completely RPG related, particularly Old School RPG related.

My charcater's full name is Edward James Bluddworth, kind of aristocratic sounding, I know.  First, the "worth" part came from my character from James Bond 007 RPG Edward Hollingsworth.  I played 007 and many other RPGs throughout the late 70's until about 1990.  In the early 1990's I shifter to computer and console games.

Now, I was always a fan of pirates, especially pirate movies and when I started playing PC games, well there were a slew of pirate themed games.  I picked up High Seas Trader in 1996ish and I had to choose a nationality and profession.  I quickly decided to play an English Privateer and he was named Captain Edward James Bluddworth.  The "Bludd" came from Captain Blood (Errol Flynn movie).

Captain Bluddworth (or simply Bluddworth) became my in-game name and internet name.  Over the next 20 to 25 years, I picked up and used several variations:  Bluddworth, Bluddwolf, and Blodvaerd. Googling any one of those names will likely turn up my gaming / internet history.... the Good, Bad and Ugly of it all.

And here I though Bluddworth sounded like a dralasite name! Gonna have to keep an eye on this guy; he might be tied to the Red Devils or the Malthar.
I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

My handle.
It's the name of the villian in a sci-fi series I used to write. I use him in games as well as a villian as well. Players have often tried to kill him many times and failed.
