I've been trying to locate the original thread to no avail but found this paragraph

2. you heard about this job opportunity and figured you'd go apply but once at the non descript corporate office you find that the job interview is quite intensive. First there is a one on one interview (role play), and demonstration of skill competence (skill challenge and puzzel), firing range session (really just another skill encounter) but then you're not hired and when leaving the place you're followed and accosted and grilled about the interview process and if they said anything about what the job was about. You get the feeling that these new people might choose to silence you rather than have you talk about their interview with them.

Basic idea is a 3 or 4 stage interview process that is a challenge.

Goal is being hired and reward is a few EXP, new uniform (skien suit) and company issued equipment. Obviously just a springboard first adventure with more to follow in the service of the company.

This would be a good way to start out characters working for CDC as troubleshooters.  Give them several adventures and then have them called up for Mission to Alcazzar.

Prequell adventures to Alcazzar?

What if the prequell followed this course:

1. they get hired at a time where a corporate bully shoved CDC off of a new claim

They go through a series of adventurers

2. discover of Alcazzar and initial survey

3. set up of the first base and contact with the primitive ape race. work in a first contact scenario here with a solid chance of developing good relations with them for latter.

4. abastract some time passing and the PCs are summoned- contact with the Alcazzar base has been lost. CDC wants experience team that has prior Alcazzar exp, adjustments in the Alcazzar adventure due to the fact the PCs already know the primitive perhaps some other changes in the known script.

This can get very interesting and should open up with another planet for the PCs to explore. Maybe like in the White Light module where they have to search three or four other cargo ships with nothing on them before they find the smugglers. In this case they start the initial exploration of a planet or system only to find nothing important or even nothing meaning the planet is a barren rock but maybe they can sell the location to Godco and start another adventure when they choose to betray CDC.
Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go?
