Let me know if you find the larger deck plans of the Streel Corvette useful. I can make smaller images freeing up a page of two from more content (I'm keeping each issue at <88 pages).

I enjoyed everyone's contributions and I can't wait to test some of the NPC in the Star Law Intelligence Reports (I converted them to Bare Bones).  :-)
...I think we should make more, don't you?

  • Shell did a great job with the creatures and plants. +1
  • GJD's red corvette looks sleek and deadly. +1
  • First time I read Battle at Ebony Eyes - great job by William Tracy back in the day and I'm glad William Douglas found a decent scan for the pic. William aslo made ship cards that can be printed on Avery 15871 format here.
  • Alex Stone is becoming my favorite report, great job iggy!
  • I forgot to credit the TSR Ad on page 83, jedion, who did that?
Finally...

Single Evil Genius SEG is awesome!
I'm using that one for my setting. :-)

Next issue I'll introduce their counterpart, the greenies.

I got that from Dawson Logos' blog, not sure if he did it or not but someone spent some time remastering and cleaning that up..

Whoo Hoo! just got my copy of issue 17 in the mail from lulu! sweet. much better quality than taking the PDF to Staples to be printed. Nice glossy card stock cover.

One downer is that the entire body of the issue is in black and white making some are a little dark. The art in the casualty article is a casualty of that.

I tried rolling on the book and adventure title table for a new title for an adventure and came up with #67: The Sacred Comet of Love. Not sure that that is the adventure I want to write though.

Unrequited love between an ifsnit and a humma as they race towards a comet that is threatening to destroy a major Frontier world...and you don't want to write that adventure?

Nope. Pairing the words sacred and love does an immediate word association in my mind with sacred prostitutes in ancient Greece. So unless the comet is a religious brothel in a system called Xanadu, I probably don't want to write it or contemplate it.

Perhaps the comet marks the high holydays for the humma, and the time when they procreate, and the adventure revolves around a plot by the Sathar to destroy the comet in an attempt to cause the Humma to stop procreating, and the characters must find a way to stop the latest Sathar doomsday device before the Sathar suceed.

I was in love with a C.O.M.E.T. once. Until I found out she had floppy disks!
I used to go out with a security x-ray machine, but she saw right thru me!

Just finished reading the gun laws article - well written, I might have quibbled over a minor point but on the whole it's a good article. Note to self: any future planetary briefs should have a note on weapons laws. Strangely though, race was not considered. I would postulate that yazirians are more lax.

EDIT: I think the Big Hunt story is one of the best bits of fiction to hit the zine.

Jedion, thanks for the kind words. I really didn't know how it would be received since I mixed in a little Lovecraftian theme. I'm glad it made it to the October issue.

Everything that has transpired has done so according to my design. This issue of the fanzine is quite safe from your pitiful little band. An entire legion of my best troops awaits them. Oh, I'm afraid the w00t shield will be quite operational when your friends arrive.

Cackle, cackle, cackle.

Does evil acts/programming make a robot evil? Is Baralou the cybot from Bugs In the System evil? Nah, it was the Matrix protecting itself. If you program a toaster to explode when used its not evil toaster. Robot toasters who can learn and then kill are not evil. It's just flawed programming

That's scary. That's like saying because I'm human and humans are flawed, I'm not at fault for anything I do. Yeesh. Looks like we have a robot in need of dismantling.

Ohhh. Caveats, gotta love 'em... Where's my tech kit? Screw it. I got my disruptor. Same result. Different effect. Less work. Less mess. Heeerrre robie, robie...

In that case, this won't hurt a bit...

(For the record, so are rabid dogs that have already attacked their owners and tasted human blood.)

Just to prove I'm not that evil...Tongue out
I wanted to apologize to William Douglass and Thomas Verreault for not crediting them in this issue. I was trying to fit Tom Stephens patch/logo and removed the gray credit box. Embarassed
William and jedion357 did an excellent job of editing/layout/art for #17. We'll have an awesome #18 for you where you'll learn the truth about jedio.... the sathar. ;-)

Well, get busy, cause I've lined up the content for the next 1.5 issues and we'll need more soon. SPEAKING OF WHICH, an issue next year will have a little KHs theme, and we can use adventures fiction, locations, deck plan's, etc, new race submissions won't see the light of day for a while as we're good for like the next 5 issues. Yazirian oriented content is good too.

You are welcome, You are welcome, You are welcome! Thank Shell for the artwork, the guy rocks (along with CJ, Wayne, GJD, Scott, Ryan, Bill, Chris, etc). I'll say it again, ARTWORK really makes the issue stand out. it's an imagination booster.

Well, we have 18 set for content. 19 has about 90% of its content and 20 is at maybe 40-50% content.

Art is critical as always. but my arse kissing at deviant art has paid off a little.

so things look good, so far.

Note CGI art needs to be lighter as dark images print very dark on the printer or through Lulu.

We have a staff member who has gone crazy dropping material into layout.

Editing is always what it is. Terl's Offered to do some more.

Issue 18 is going to rock your socks! Have I mentioned that before? A Big secret gets revealed after 30 years. I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!

I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!
