Description: This project is a Fantasy Frontiers inspired, Star Frontiers meets the classic Boot Hill.
Really just a place for me to kick around ideas and develop stuff.

High Dawn Frontiers:

Should be just a set of rules to run a fast paced Boot Hill style game,

But it could be also a world with the classic SF races cast in various roles of the Wild West for players looking for something off beat to play.

or I suppose it could be a bit of recasting of Firerfly to Star Frontiers, perhaps

Interesting concept, at first I misunderstood where you were going with this and thought you were developing a wild west meets star frontiers setting. The image Icon gave me the impression that you were going to approach a "Aliens and Cowboys" type theme which like the movie could be very interesting. However, upon reading the intro again more carefully this appears to be more of a system conversion project where star frontiers rules are adapted for a western "boot hill" setting. It has a lot of merit and I will like to see what you come up with. However, I have to admit I'm not terribly interested in playing boot hill with Star Frontiers game mechanics.

You're quite correct and I was primarily interested in doing a boot hill conversion but after considering the audience on this site I figure its best to cover both bases
I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

There seems to be quite an interest in Savage Worlds system conversions, might be worth considering for your conversion of boot hill. Not to discourage you in anyway because I understand that it is easier to convert something you know then to learn something new and then do the conversion.

I was going to do a Savage World conversion of Boot Hill, but really, it's easier to just use Savage Worlds as it is and drop PC's into the BH settings. I'm also looking at a GangBusters converter (again, using "Pulp" setting rules to convert Module NPCs) ... another all-time TSR favorite of mine! Anybody already looking at this, contact me via SMKellyPA_at_gmail

Personally, I like both the mechanics in BH and GB for what they are... but as I've explained elsewhere, using a fast, furious, fun unified mechanic keeps my other players from getting frustrated as I dabble in so many other games like an ADD honeybee on a field of wildflowers.

I think this sounds like a very good idea!
I support the Core Four as Space Cowboys, in and out of the G-well.Cool
Find a nice sparse planet, in a non-jovian system, low water percentage but many landlocked seas, with a 'roid ring in orbit, and a near-by 'roid field with multiple dwarfs, but keep it under a tight observation from Star Law, with a UPF (too far) forward observation post for suspected Sathar threats, and plenty of red tape to make it difficult for Mega Corporate intrusions..... sounds like something out past the Liberty Sector.  Call it Dodge.... Make it a Blue/Yellow Binary and the asteroid belt can be the O.K. Corral... Cool
Oh humans!! Innocent We discover a galactic community filled with multiple species of aliens, and the first thing we think about is "how can we have sex with them?".
