 March 6, 2011 - 7:02am | Local hoby store opened up a small room of discounted stuff- owner will often buy large lots of stuff and not all of it is suitable for stocking on shelf space I noticed a box of Dragon mags for $.50 each and picked one up while buying other stuff Mostly I was interested in the article on seige in a fantasy environment (which was quite good) it was the ads that really caught my eye. Amazing to see how many ads Palladium had in Dragon. Plus there were some really interesting products that had me on google and ebay and some things I didn't remember at all: Series of novels for the Buck Rogers universe Mutants of the Yucatan- setting and campaign book for TNMT rpg Really fascinating crab like alien miniatures from Stan Johansen- I was aware of him as miniatures manufacturer but had some how missed these figures. TSR's Mage Stones being hawks by none other than Raistlin of the Dragon Lance saga, apparently fictional fantasy characters even did endorsements. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
