Hello all,

I'm new here and mostly play games other than Star Frontiers.  However, a few months ago, I ran a Star Frontiers game to play test the game for a review in a column called "Lost Game Safari" for Knights of the Dinner Table Magazine.  I had a great time playing "Crash on Volturnus" with people who had played little except 4th Edition D&D.  The journal can be found here:

http://blog.myspace.com/max_writer

You'll have to pan down or check out the archives as it was back in July 2009.  There are quite a few details as I audio record all my game sessions now.

On March 8, 2008, I ran a game to memorialize Gary Gygax. We played Advanced Dungeons and Dragons; I ran the Keep on the Borderlands. A chair was set aside for Gary at the head of the table. We toasted him with scotch after that game. The man has touched so many lives. I've only now gotten around to fixing it so it can be online.

The journal entry can be found here:

More specifically, here:

My favorite stories about Gary are from people who wrote him as a kid and the content of the letter was about what you'd expect from a twelve or thirteen year old but Gary took the time to write back personally. He could have been a real ass of a human being but still a good game designer and he wasn't. He was a genuine human being that took the time to write fans and mentor people that he hired. I'm sure he had his faults but I admire him for this one quality about him. Its 8:00am this morning and I raise my cup of coffee to his memory and whisper a quiet prayer that I might emulate his example more in my life.
I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

I ran Call of Cthulhu this past weekend, the first session of an experiment using Silent Hill. The scenario, called Restless Dreams (parts 1-1 through 1-10), can be found here:

It's taken me too long to get this one written up.

On August 3, I ran a game of Ravenloft (AD&D 2nd Edition) using the Masque of Red Death setting. The name of the scenario was Falls Run and the write up can be found here in three parts:

http://www.penandpapergames.com/forums/blog.php/8662-Max_Writer

It's LONG as we played for over six hours and there was a great deal of great role-playing. Characters were:

Robert Blair (Soldier/Explorer)
Dr. Jacob Heintz (Tradesman/Doctor)

The video for the entire game (for which the write-up is kind of a transcipt) can be found on youtube here:

I plan to run another scenario involving the Big Money at CaesarCon 2014.

Hey you started this thread with a jornal entry for SF.  IS that still available anywhere... or any actual plays of SF?
