Status: Partially Resolved

    Editing Repositions Posts

    Issue Number:
    43
    Severity:
    Major
    Description:

If you edit your post after someone else has posted after you, then your post gets taken out of order and moved to the latest post position. Edited posts should remain in their original order.

There also needs to be editing notes with time stamps attached and an textfield box to put an edit note in.

WHaaaahhh???  I tested what you said and you're right!  I'm using a core Drupal commenting system for the forums, and I can't BELIEVE that has gone unnoticed.  I'm on it.

The order of the forum posts and comments seems fixed now.  Sorting by comment ID rather than timestamp (because timestamps can change).

I was also thinking about an edit note.  I'll think about that one, and label this issue partially resolved.
