Inertia screens that neutralize sonic crying

While doing a bit of research I came across the following in SF3 Sundown on Starmist;

Weeping Wallows
Type Plant
Number NA
Move NA
IM/RS 6/60
Stamina 35
Attack 65, range of 100m
Damage -20 on all attack rolls
Special Attack Sonic crying
Special Defense Immune to sonic attacks
Native World Yazirian planets

DESCRIPTION: The true weeping wallow is a curiosity on most worlds as it makes crying sounds. However, the low frequency weeping of a construct causes disquiet to all within 100m who hear it. The frequency reduces all attack rolls by 20 in addition to all other modifiers and damage. Inertia/sonic screens can neutralize the sound effect.

Appears to be an inconsistency... Any comments or observations?

Here is mine. Since interia screens "slow down" incoming physcial attacks, why not all forms of the physcial realm including voice, sand storms, blizzards, water pistol attacks and sonic crying.

Sonic crying.... Innocent

I omitted the inertia defense on that one.

Most modern day bullets (all bullets that would be designed for military use) travel faster than sound, so I would rule that the two screens are "tuned" differently. Add to that, the inertia screen is designed to slow down a mass, rather than nullify a wave. Two completely different definitions according to canon, hence my omission in the game.
I'm not overly fond of Zeb's Guide...nor do I have any qualms stating why. Tongue out

I think that was fixed in a Q&A from Dragon or Polyhedron.
The Inertia bit was dropped.
Time flies when your having rum.

Sonic crying: A special attack unique to the weeping wallows and infants/toddlers of all four races, especially Human babies and toddlers.

Instances of sonic crying are often encountered by single males in family restaurants, as hostesses almost always seat them next to families with infants and toddlers.

Other instances of the phenomenon can be encountered in churches, school plays, graduations, or any other large public gathering.
