I'm launching a new Star Frontiers web site called 'The Star Frontiers Network'. You can find it at http://starfrontiers.homelinux.net It will primarily be oriented to online games and software development but there will be a little bit of other stuff there as well. It's availability may be sporatic for the next week or so as it is still running on my laptop. I was supposed to have a new computer to run it on but ran into a minor technical problem and I'm tired of waiting to make this thing live. You can read the full details on my blog at http://starfrontiers.blogspot.com. Feel free to come on over and check it out. It should be up most of the time except on the rare occasions I need to actually boot into Windows as my laptop is normally always on on my docking station.

Thanks.  I'd 'boot Windows' if I could, but I still have a few things that need to run there on the native hardware (most things I can do in my Windows virtual machine under Linux).  Mainly games and art stuff that needs the native video (doesn't work in the VM) or full power of both CPU's.  The VM only gets one and the overhead makes it only about 70% efficient.

I have no grudge with Linux. Look pretty cool thus far TerlObar.

I'm testing out a redesign of my website. You can check out the concept homepage at http://starfrontiers.info/test. The links don't go anywhere, they are just for display purposes. Anyway, take a look and let me know what you think. There will eventually be a variety of background images, I just happened to have that one handy :D . Eventually this theme will migrate through the whole site, including the forums.

Tweaked colors, added a brushed metal background to the links menu and rotated the background image.  The site is designed for a 1024 pixel wide browser at the moment.

The Star Frontiers Network now has a wiki.  I had always intended to integrate a wiki with the forums and due to recent comments by jedion357, I was inspired to push that project forward.

Anyone can read the wiki.  In order to edit and create pages, you need to have an account on the SFN forums and make yourself part of the wiki usergroup.  Full instructions can be found on the Instructions for Gaining Wiki Access page.

The primary purpose of the Star Frontiers Network Wiki is to provide a place for referees to post material to their game and easily cross link it to the forums.  This can be used by anyone running a game anywhere, whether the game is running on the Star Frontiers Network site, some other site on the web or is just a tabletop game somewhere.  However, it is a wiki and can be used as such for any Star Frontiers source material that the users want to put there.  I’ve created a bit of a hierarchy to start organizing material.

In addition, and since it doesn’t seem to exist anywhere else, I’m putting all the Star Frontiersman articles on-line there as well.  Issues 1 and 2 are completely on-line and I’ve marked up the table of contents for all the other issues as well.  There will also be a master index of all the articles ala Ascent’s article in issue 12 and the index w00t built.  I’ll be filling in the articles over the next few weeks.  But since it is a community wiki, anyone else that wants to help in that effort is more than welcome to.

Anyway, drop on over and check it out.  I hope you all enjoy it and it proves to be a useful resource.

(+1 * Pi) to Terl!

Online Star Frontiersman articles. w00t!
Now we can fix all those mistakes.

When you get more online - let's make an announcement on the front page.

Can you list breadcrumbs at the top of the page so it's easy to navigate UP or to the FRONT page of the webzine articles?

Not automagically but it should be easy enough to add in.  Good idea.  I'll add a link that take you up the the Table of Contents for the magazine the article was in and another to take you to the top Star Frontiersman link.
